Zara Jeffrey graduated from San Diego State University in 2004, with a Bachelors of Arts in Dance. This field of study gave her a deeper awareness of the body and inspired her to look deeper into body modalities such as massage. Dance gave her a chance to explore the mind, body, spirit connection, and realize the importance in maintaining its balance to create overall wellness. As a dancer training many hours a day, Zara’s own body went through many physical challenges. Zara personally used massage to help her through achy muscles and several injuries.
She attended, Mueller College in 2010 for Massage Therapy and now works as Licensed Massage Therapist within San Diego. She has worked in medical type settings since 2010 with the San Diego Center for Health. She worked on a large variety of clients from professional athletes, dancers, and accident injury clients. It gave her confidence in her skills and her ability to patient the massage to the client’s needs. She has also worked at Via Sat Wellness Center, a medical facility within a large corporation in North County. All her clients here receive medically necessary massages, which has even expanded her knowledge further. Zara Is currently working at North Park Massage and building her own massage and yoga business in her San Diego community of North Park which she resides.
She is excited to now be part of The Nature’s Whispers Yoga Team as a Coordinator running her practice out of the healing space, and bringing her skills to the table! Maggie Flood is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine, a board certified herbalist, postpartum doula, pelvic floor enthusiast and specialist. Maggie’s path to Ancient Chinese Medicine began over a decade ago, and her passion for helping her patients achieve balance propels her work today. Her interests in pelvic wellness began with her own self-healing journey through complications with endometriosis. Since then, Maggie’s focus has been to help her patients by utilizing varying techniques combined with the tenets of Traditional Chinese Medicine to create a unique approach to relieving the individual origins of pelvic pain in both men and women. Emphasizing the connection of the mental-emotional body to the physical body, Maggie’s style of treatment is based on the patient as a whole, assessing the mind, body and spirit to understand each patient’s individual presentation, with a heavy emphasis on emotional release work.
Following over a decade of childcare experience, Maggie trained as a postpartum doula with the ProDoula organization. She believes that mother care is essential for proper infant care in the first months after birth, and offers care packages to reflect that position by combining infant care assistance with at-home acupuncture treatments for the recovering mother, herbal medicine consults and monitoring, and meal planning with traditional uses of food-as-medicine for regaining optimal health.
