From ancient times women have been together holding space for each other throughout their many lifecycles. From bleeding and birthing in the red tent together to caring for each other through their postpartum cycle, women support each other in their hardest and best times. Friends and families would gather around the new parents in support and love. Countries from around the world still practice this relationship of kindred souls.
Today we have expanded this tradition to our western culture into professional roles. With families increasingly moving from place to place, very often new parents find that they do not have the close family support they need. In San Diego (our melting pot society) many families are not native to the area. Expenses increasing in the country continue to make it even harder to bring family to the parents or allow the parents to come to their family.
We know and understand just how important the role of support post birth, adoption or surrogacy is. We are a collective of mothers at Nature’s Whisper after all so we are cultivating a list of postpartum doulas for you!
Please continue to check back or email our birthing team with your information and request. In the meantime check out the postpartum doula currently in our collective. You can find her information by navigating to the Postpartum Doulas page. If you would like to contact us to receive information on the doulas we know in the area or currently registered in our collective please use the form below. Please visit them at our monthly Meet the Doula Night on the last Friday of the month from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
